Michael Henry Rose, a lifelong resident of the Peninsula, died April 21, 2013 after a long illness. He was 65. Born in Palo Alto on Oct. 13, 1947, he graduated from Palo Alto High School in 1966. He served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and earned a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

He owned Michael's Men's Wear in Mountain View and was self-employed in the computer industry. He leaves his twin sister, Mary, of Palo Alto; nephews Kyle and Kevin Emard; and numerous friends.
